This doesn't mean you'll always behave like an unfeeling robot. But we can all learn to have more control over what others can read from our faces. And some feelings are easier to hide than others. You can develop your natural talent for hiding your feelingsĪs with any other skill, our natural talent for masking feeling varies. It's not always a good idea to show your true feelings.

Babies and small children, of course, don't do this. Across the world, and through history, human beings show emotion to a widely varying degree.īut what's really interesting is that humans can hide what they are feeling. It's said that we live in a confessional age, where people show their emotions much more easily and readily than in the past.īut of course how much or how little emotion people show to others depends on the culture they live in.
